I went to BiLo today with my grandson in tow. I had taken the memory chip out of my camera to use their machine to make a few prints. I was getting ready to put the chip in the print machine, turned around to check on Colby who had walked out of my sight for a minute, turned back around and put my chip into the credit card slot. That is where it remains. The store does not have a way to get into that machine. The manager had to block the credit card slot so the machine can't be used all weekend. Hopefully on Monday the machine man will come and get my memory chip out. Do you think he will be mad that his machine didn't make any money all weekend?

uh, sheri? if things like that are what makes idiots, there are a lot more out there than i think there are. i mean, i've watch people try to use a change machine and swear it is broken, but it is that they are putting their bills in there upside down and backwards lol

i just hope the card reader didn't damage your memory chip shock

oh my Sheri---I am so sorry for you--but no--we all have our little "accidents".

Does not make us idiots--it is just part of the curves life throws at us. I hope your card is ok come monday.

Sheri ~ I hate using machines like that of any kind! Years ago when ATM's first came out, the machine "misread" my pin number and kept my card as a "security risk". On Thanksgiving Eve, no less! And oh my goodness, what I went through to get it back! The security office told me that sometimes the machine will misread the code you enter. Thanks, guys. Fortunately a friend was able to cash a check for me and so I wasn't broke for the holiday. Still, I always do worry a little when I have to use machines instead of dealing with a live person.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Carol,
I was with you in the middle ages till about 5 months ago - then if you wrote a check the stores here turned it into and EFT and handed the check back to you- so decided I may as well use the debit card and skip that step- I do pay all my bills on line too- so don't have to buy stamps much anymore-- or buy as many checks either...even got my hubby using the card- and keeping the receipt for me-

We had gone to using our debit cards for everything until Johnny had his number stolen twice with ALL our money being cleaned out once (the bank replaced it - they sent a letter saying it was a bank employee who had done it), and I posted a few months ago that I received a letter from my bank saying I would receive a new card because my security had been breached by a bank employee. Evidentially it's easier to thieves to use a debit card than it is to use peoples checking information. We've gone back to writing checks.

Add me to that group - no debit card here for me either!
I only have 2 credit cards - American Express, and Visa for the stores that refuse to take AE. I have some store credit cards, but refuse to use them anymore...

I have an Ann Taylor Loft credit card and that's it. I use it all the time and so far haven't had any trouble. I even pay my bill online.

Credit cards from stores I think are not good ideas......
I bought something for $79. and when I returned it, the money comes back to the card.......That I didnt care for ...
Especially since it went to HD card and I had not been able to get it ..I only charge the Internet on one........

I have 2 store credit cards

Penney's and Sears----But I think that the sears is a real live master card--I do not carry it--it is in my file her at home--I only use the sears about once a year to keep it current---I do like the penneys to use to order from the catalog, though

At the Loft if I pay cash I get cash back, if I use the card it goes back to the card. That's the only place that has clothes that fit me without alterations. I'm short.

I'm short on money too. It's hard for short people to find clothes that fit. My friend, Silvia, is shorter than I so we both like to shop at the Loft. My sisters are skinny (not my problem) so they like to shop there too. Problem with that is that right now we all have the same shoes and black skirt. My mother bought a sweater like one of mine too. It's hard to be an individual in my family.

I'd be different alright if I sewed my clothes. I tried sewing when my children were little and they still have nightmares about it.

sewing would be a good option for me too BUT---my machine is in need of repairs of adjustment. Every time i have taken it in the person checking it says--it is fine, jsut needed cleaning--it works for a very short time & woops the tensoin slips again.

my friend, who has the same machine as me, (Golden touch & sew--yea it is old, huh?") said she had the same problem she took hers to a guy who said it was her bobbins--he tried out all of her bobbins & threw out all but 2--(please note-they were ALL factory bobbins) but now as long as she uses those 2 bobboins all is well--when I have the money i am going to get my machine fixed with the same guy thumbup

(FYI: I used my mom's portable to make the girls their tree skirts)

At our local bank you have to swipe a debit card to get service. It's like a half personal~half computer type service.
