Greetings from Iowa. I'm a retired electrical engineer with more interest than knowledge about
flower and landscape gardening. I will have way more questions than answers. The question of the day is what to do about winter preparation for mums and
roses (a climber - at least it's on a trellis). Specifically, how close to the ground should they be cut? Also, should I mulch?
