4 years ago a lady in south Texas sent me this little twig about 8 inch long among other plants and said it was called a Confederate rose. The leaves are like a Hibiscus or Cotton plant leaf. The plant is about 6 foot tall now and just getting my first bloom which I think is very pretty. Can anyone verify this name or tell me what plant I have for sure. Below are 2 photo's one up close of the bloom the other showing part of the plant and some leaves when the bloom first opened.

i'm not 100% but, i'll tell you how you can tell. if the bloom changes colors. it will start off white, turn pink, then go a deep red before it dies. and most have multiple blooms before the first bloom dies.

they grow alot like the texas star hibiscus as far at the plant formation is. and it isn't uncommon for them to get to 6-8 ft tall with a diameter of 4-6 feet at their widest. they are all over here.
