I just wanted to show you guys some of my (very) new gardens that I planted this year. I did all prennials in the beds, and some prennials in containers because I decided it was time to do permanent plants.

[Linked Image]

This one is the newest-I planted it in early July. It has black-eyed Susans, purple coneflowers (those haven't bloomed yet), a few very small lavendar plants, a shasta daisy, and some succulant that my mom gave me that flowers yellow. I spread some assorted seeds and there are two large seedlings coming up, (but I don't know that they are yet). I also planted the grass that is in the picture this spring, in April (I think).

[Linked Image]

This is a flower on one of my Hollyhocks. See the bee?

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

The purple coneflowers. The vertical picture has one of the seedlings in front of the coneflower.

[Linked Image]
Shasta daisy

[Linked Image]
Black-eyed Susan and lavendar. I am going to have to move them a little further apart. The black-eyed Susan it planted further away than it looks, but for some reason, it started streching itself, so the stem is actually going into the ground about six inches away from where the majority of the plant is.

[Linked Image]
and this is my cat, wandering around the new grass and flowers. Now only if I could get my boyfriend to ditch all the garbage that's also in that corner... LOL

All of the plants that I posted are in the same spot except for the Hollyhock.

Very nice, it will fill in quick. I am over run with purple coneflowers, they reseed so easily.

^I actually had a cat that I named Sox, mostly because he looked like he had socks on, and because Sox was a baseball reference, and I knew my dad would be proud. LOL

We love him. My boyfriend thinks he's a little person. LOL

^hmmm....I am wondering if I should go and snip off a few of the seeds off my neighbor's flowers. She said she wouldn't care if I did it. I haven't talked to her in a few months, though.

I think I will try to take some more pictures of them tomorrow. It's amazing how fast they grow!

Does anyone know how to catch the seeds of the black eyed susans? I'd like to have them in other parts of the yard for next year.

Here are some pictures of my grapevine. This year, instead of hacking it way back like I do every year, I'm going to get it to grow across to the fence like I've got it trained in one or two of the pictures. We were talking about getting an arbor to get support. The people that sold the house to us put the white trellis up on the fence, and we couldn't figure out why! LOL

Thanks. We;re going to make the side of the house a overgrown walkway. As you can tell, it's a pain-in-the-you-know-what to mow the grass over there.

I've got the same problem on the west side of my house. Either the grass gets thrown on the pavement or against the house, too narrow to work with. I'm thinking of slowly making it a full perennial bed.

The big white balls are lights. bop We have clear Christmas lights all around the deck and intertwined in the trellis that the grapevine grows on.

I don't have any bugs other than wasps and bees that I've noticed.

I wasn't scared off. I just haven't been gardening much because I'm really busy with school. 19 credits and student teaching can kill a person!

I'll work on the pictures of F-I-L's garden.

We have the street light things for better vision on the large yard and Barn.
We see pretty much our buildings.........

Well dont work too hard.........Your classes come first and I am suprised you have time for us.......
Garden will soon freeze..........

Good luck ..

F-I-L's garden.

The first pictures are different angles of the patio. He lives in a town home, and he's covered almost every single square inch with greenery!

I'm lucky enough to get many of his potted plants every fall.

The rest of these are around the patio.

This is his side walkway between the house and the fence. I love it. (the body in the pictures is my boyfriend. I call his dad my FIL becaue it's just easier, and we've been together longer than some married couples.)

Here are the white balls all lit up at night. Took these tonight. I had to cheat by using the porch light, because even with the extended shutter speed, my camera didn't want to capture the light correctly. But it looks this way in person, I swear. I'm actually surprised that you can't see my solar lights. Must be way too weak for the digital camera... lol

So pretty. Your flowers are beautiful. Do you live in a town home too? I also like the lights your FIL has put up and I like the way he has a bird feeder and hanging basket tucked in with the greenery. I'm going to put lights on my screened in porch. I'm stealing everyone's ideas on this forum.

Don't kick me off the bus Dodge. I need to be right once in a while.
