I hope someone can help me!

I purchased a trumpet plant this year and watched it bloom (only 1 flower...it's still a young plant). Now I want preserve it so that come next spring/summer, I can put it back outside and watch it grow. Unfortunately I don't know what to do with it. Where do I store it? In the dark or in the light? Warm, hot, cold, cool, dry, damp? HELP!!!!!

I usually store mine in my basement. Just let it dry out and go dormant, water it very little, just enough to keep it alive. The next year, cut off any dead wood and put it back out. I have also tried growing them as houseplants, but they usually can't get enough sun and just look sad, but still alive.
