My goodness these yellow 4oclocks started with just 3 seeds in early spring shock and has monster-ized ,, It has covered the Purple Zinna, boohoo and roses, and about wiped out the marigold egad but the marigolds found a way to reach sunlight,, grin You can see it has climbed the fencing and into the moonflower vine,, tapfoot I bet I'll be pulling many a baby starts next year.

Don't you kind of hate it though, when you have to take something beautiful and thin it out, or trim it down, or take half of it out?? It would make me just cry!!!

We had a dry spell for a little bit .... But this was our best summer ever since I moved here in '95,, it's has alwasys been hot and dry.It rained a lot in the spring and 1/2 the summer then it went dry for 5 weeks But I watered deep every morning at 4:30 am some things browned up while other flurished!,, but it raining off and on since I got back from CedarHill,,
So I know the pain you speak of Sheri! I dealt with it for 11 years of only seeing good blooming in the early to mid spring,, kissie

The area where the yellows one are I admended heavily with peat. compost and sheepmanure,, every spring Or actually before the last frost,, to prepare ,, I have to give thanks again for the GardenHelper,, I didn't even know what compost was until I joined here! shock grin

Diane, do Brugs open more at night? I noticed tonight right after dark that mine were more open.

Another question. Who is the person, I think in California, that posts all the beautiful flowers blooming in her yard?

I think it all depends when they begin opening initially ,, I notice it takes normally 1&1/2 to 2 full days to open and on the third day for sure the true color is there as they start off lighter in color then when they finish,,

Are you talking about the Night pictures she posted awesome pictures with lots of whimsical and vases and such incorporated in her gardens>>??

Someone lives down south of me and i cannot remember the name. She has more ocean influence than I do in her gardens.
