I bought these plants at a recent sale at the Elizabethan Gardens near where I live. I love these little flowers. There must be 50-60 buds on each plant!

Those are beautiful. I have some toad lilies too. Mine haven't gotten that big yet. I just planted the bulbs late spring. I did get a couple of flowers this summer.I can't wait for them to get bigger and more beautiful.

plants 'n pots...you should be fine growing them in NY. Here are the zones:
USDA zone 5a: to -28.8 °C (-20 °F)
USDA zone 5b: to -26.1 °C (-15 °F)
USDA zone 6a: to -23.3 °C (-10 °F)
USDA zone 6b: to -20.5 °C (-5 °F)
USDA zone 7a: to -17.7 °C (0 °F)
USDA zone 7b: to -14.9 °C (5 °F)
USDA zone 8a: to -12.2 °C (10 °F)
USDA zone 8b: to -9.4 °C (15 °F)
USDA zone 9a: to -6.6 °C (20 °F)
USDA zone 9b: to -3.8 °C (25 °F)

hope this helps

Those are beautiful, not in my zone though. I wonder if they'd over winter in pots in an unheated basement?

The flowers are quite small, only about an inch and a half across. The plants themselves are the size of regular lilly plants, like almost any asiatic lilly. What I find amazing is the bloom buds all the way down the stem!

My zone is ever changing. Supposedly I always thought I was a zone 4 but Agriculture Canada says I'm zone 3 bordering on a 2. I must really look into it.

Tam, some maps I see toronto as a 6 some as a 5 and some us maps as a 4 i suppose global warming will make all the zones higher sooner or later (watch canada become zones 3-10 and they'll probably add new zone 12+)

Helping the world one seed at a time

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

such a pretty color. I would have thought it's cooling off in your area too.
