I thought we had a thread going on sedum plants, other than Diane's variegated sedum - I didn't want to hijack that one with green leaved ones - but couldn't find it so I'm starting one here.

This is my first sedum - it has gotten HUGE! I will divide it next spring and spread it throughout the new pond gardens that I'm hoping to have up and growing by then.
This is just a small section of this plant in bloom today.

Very pretty, that's another plant that I have never tried. How cold hardy are they?

~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.

Very nice, Cindy and Bill!

Tamara - mine are VERY cold hardy here in zone 6. As a matter of fact, whenever we get a "warm" spell in the middle of winter, they start growing, and then I think they are doomed when it freezes or snows on the baby growth, but they keep on growing better than ever. Not sure what zone they go down to though...

Here is my variegated - I started this with one 3 inch cutting from a friend a few years ago - it did take a few years to fill out, but you can take cuttings and it will get bushier. Just pop the cuttings into the soil too, for more plants.

ladyslipper; if your Sedum is a pale pink it could be: "Matrona"
"brilliant" is pink aging into rust red
"Neon" is a bright-bright" pink

The "Ruby Glow" looks pink to me in the picture but my plant catalog says it is ruby red--oh well.

do you think any of these color discriptions match your plant?

I have tons of Sedum. If you have them and want more Lynne all you have to do is snip off some stems about 6-7 inches long...take off the bottom few leaves and stick it in the ground. I've spread them all over my yard and moms by doing that! flwr

Thanks loz - I have actually done that many times, and shared cuttings too.
When I said that was my first sedum, I meant that it was the very first one I ever bought. I have many many more since then - they can be addictive, right?!?

Jiffy, I leave mine alone too. So far they've come back - even more than the year before.

Same here, Jiffy - I don't do anything to mine other than cut the browned stalks to the ground. They do come back fuller each year.
