Just wondering if its easier to just send seed head instead of pulling all the seeds I was amazed at how many seeds come from one flower. Two flower heads yielded about 50 seeds. Has anyone just buried a dried flower head in dirt to see if it would grow a plant?

Anyway, I'm sure everyone has a ton of rudbeckia, I have as well, if you want any.

I also have a ton of seeds from my Joe Pye weed plant that grew 6 feet tall.

I have about 20 purple coneflower seeds. (Some flowers are dust and some are too green at the moment.)

I have 15 seeds from my white phlox.

I've gotten a few seed as a whole flower head. Then I pulled it apart. never tried to bury a whole flower. Dont think it would work though.

I've never tried burying a whole seed head, but I know a lady who is a great gardener near our old house who just cut the whole plant after the seeds ripen (like columbine) and them just throw the stems where she wanted them to grow next year. I wouldn't say bury, but if you crumple or toss the heads over an area they will grow for you

Helping the world one seed at a time

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

Happy to report, I have a ton of seeds from my Hardy Hibiscus plant. It is still sending up blooms, really happy with this plant. It is quite vigorous.
