It is very late in the season for such young fawns. They still, barely, have their spots. I believe they are twins, and that the second doe is their "auntie" I hope they get good and fattened up before winter. Momma looks a bit too thin, from feeding 2 and herself.

Very pretty, our fawns here still have spots on them this time of year.

Yeah, Momma does look a little bony. I hope they can winter over. Great shots, Wrennie.

Wonderful pictures, Wrennie! I am always so amazed at how skinny their legs are, yet they are so strong!

What great pictures!! I love your scenery--and of course the great dear pictures that you took. We do not see any deer here--even if it is the edge of town That is one of the may things I miss about living out in the country.

They were back again last night. This time there were 6 adults and the 2 babies. There was lots of sparring going on. I guess they're getting their winter herds together and getting a heirarchy in order. So far momma looks to be queen.

It's illegal to feed the deer in NY. Theres a degenerative wste disease in some surrounding states, and they;re trying to prevent it from getting into NY. All the fruit from the fruit trees is their first source of food in my yard. And theres LOTS of it. Of course they will eat the bird feed I put out too. Which just might have some corn in it. She looked a bit heavier last night.

Come on over. We have a few groups coming through now. Theres another set of 2 doe with a fawn. Haven't seen any bog old bucks in the yard, yet. We sit about 15 feet from them when they're here. They dont mind us at all.
