Okay, for the past month or so we have had frogs in our pond. Different sizes. Now, the question is where are they coming from? We don't have a big pond or lake w/in a mile of here. Also, did you know frogs eat minnows?? We didn't! One of the frogs reached out and grabbed a big minnow and ate it!! Not necessarily a bad thing since we have a ton of minnows. Little buggers won't stop breeding :-)

It only takes a pair. There are toads that lay eggs in the desert and those eggs may wait years for enough water to hatch in. I don't know about frogs.
We caught a couple of tadpoles at a lake and let them grow into frogs for my preschool daughter to watch the transformation. So when they became little frogs I took them outside to let go in the pond. The first one jumped out of my daughter's hand straight into the pond. One of the larger goldfish dashed up and ate it! I didn't expect that at all. It was a shock.
Maybe a bird or something like that left you a froggy-type gift? I don't know how far they can travel.

if there is water, they will eventually find it! i have carried off a few bullfrogs (they will eat anything smaller than them) down to the river....like a mile away, otherwise, if i turn them loose at the farm pond on the other side of the hill, they come bacK! madd
