Wow loz, I was at the big Dollar store in town today, they had two big aisles already full with Christmas stuff. I will have some extra money for the next time I go to do a little shopping there. DH was in a hurry so I didn't have time to really look through it all.
~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
My stores are so behind....both the Dollar General and the Dollar Tree have a few Christmas things out, but when I ask about paper they just say that what they put out already is leftovers from last Christmas.
When Athena goes home tonight I can wrap some more!
BTW, my family all thinks I'm a freak. When it comes to Christmas that is!
Ooooo, shopping? Bill and Cindy shopping? Buy some good goodies!
I got back from shopping just now.
I got a $32 necklace for $3.99, and a $28 pair of earrings for $2.99.
I also got a Liz Claiborne purse for my sister for $11.90---originally $42. I also got her the matching wallet for $4.84, originally $18. And I got Athena a purse for 1.98, it's so cute and was originally $16. And then I got my other niece a 3 piece sleepwear set that was $7.44, originally $28.
Oh and in another store I got my older niece a cute purse for only 3.99 on clearance.
Mark just keeps saying, why don't you buy yourself something? I can't at this time of year though, I have to get all of this christmas shopping done.
Ooooo, shopping? Bill and Cindy shopping? Buy some good goodies!
The last time I took Cindy shopping (for a sleeper sofa.... which we didn't even get....), my $450 budget swelled to $1800 Cindy doesn't like shopping tho.....
Actually I haven't bought anything since the weekend.
I do have a few orders on their way to me though. Oh I lie! This morning I bought dad some movies for Christmas--I used a coupon code for $10 off a purchase of $35 or more when you use paypal to check out!
I bought some 12 x 12 stackable craft boxes, to give the girls. They came this last Tuesday. Then I bought my sister some wine/grape printed memo paper to go with whatever I buy her for her gift (in case I get her name in our family's exchange) But not to worry--if I do not get her name, she & I will exchange birthday gifts next spring.--so the note paper will go in THAT gift package.

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!! .....
You're thinking ahead Carol! I do those same kinds of things all the time. Last fall when we had the gift swap I bought Loz some snowman placemats before we even got our names just in case I got her name. Well I didn't get her name so I saved them and sent them to her from Christmas.
I don't think we are either Loz! But, I saw those placemats and I knew that was something that you said you didn't have and I thought they were just perfect so I thought...oh what the heck...maybe I will get her name in the swap! I like to give gifts anyway so it didn't matter that I didn't get your name!
Anything snowman--you know I love them! And I didn't have placemats so they were perfect.
Sometime soon I'm going to go to the Dollar Tree and spend about $30-$40 on getting stocking stuffers/fillers. Years ago when I was a teenager and Cory and Kristen were little I was totally broke so I went there and bought them each 10 things...I swear they played with those little toys almost as much as the big toys.
Kids don't really care about the price of things. It is all about quantity when they are little. But this year Tristen has an expensive Christmas list. He wants a PS2, the Barnyard game, a real phone for his room, a Game Boy, and a whole bunch of other things. I told him that he would have to cut his list back some cuz Santa couldn't get him all those things cuz they are too expensive. He said...Santa can get all those things for me mom because he makes everything so it doesn't cost him that much. I told him that Santa had lots of other kids that needed presents too so he couldn't give them all to him. Now to get that list narrowed down.
I used to listen carefully when Jonni was little and said she wanted something she saw in an ad. Just so I could get ideas for holidays. Then one day she watched an ad and said, "I want that". I stopped listening then. It was a commercial for an early pregnancy test.
