REALLY TASTES LIKE PIZZA......

1 lrg, 1 smaller can chicken broth
1/2-1 lb loose, sweet Italian sausage (or squeeze out of casings)
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 zucchini, diced
1 sweet onion, diced
1 can diced tomatoes
1 tsp minced garlic
salt, pepper, basil, oregano to taste
1 bag totellini or mini-ravioli

Brown sausage, separating as it browns; pour off grease. Saute zucchini, bell pepper, onion.
In large soup pot, throw in chicken broth, sausage, veggies; add diced tomatoes. garlic, spices (not too much oregano and basil or it will overpower). Bring to a boil and add your frozen pasta. When pasta is done, so is the soup!

When I make this, I leave it on the stove with mugs and a ladle. It's gone before you know it! Our local restaurant used the recipe for lunch. It's a Wednesday menu item. Enjoy, Kat (Yes, I'm Italian.)

And....I have other quick, Italian dishes. Just ask.

My Sister's ex-mother in law used to make this soup, only she went as far as to add cheese and pepperoni to the recipe. it is really good. now I'll have to snag the recipe for myself and make it at home. the kids wil love it.

Oh, just thinking it would be extra good with melted cheese and rebaked in the oven just like a cheesy seafood chowder. I am definately going to give this recipe a try this winter.

Adding cheese sounds great, but the kind of cheese I would use is sliced provolone [a little thicker than for sandwiches]. Grated cheese I'd pick is pecorino romano ~ you' be surprised how many Italians use that instead of Parmesan in Chicken/Eggplant/Veal Parmesan! Please don't use Kraft or anything sitting on a shelf at the store [Jesus cries when you do that nono ]. Even The Olive Garden uses romano...husband calls it "MacDonald's with a bar."

Well guess he will still be crying, I can't afford the fancy cheeses here. You have to go to a special market for them. I don't even buy Kraft lol I buy generic cheeses all the time. I don't even know what real cheese tastes like.

Thanks for the offer but it probably isn't legal and would cost a fortune to ship anyway. Sweet of you to offer though kissie

Pizza soup sounded funny to me till I read the recipe. Now it sounds really good. I like the add cheese & pepperoni ideas.
