My mom decided that she would cut the peony to the ground and cut the butterfly bush to the ground as well. When we moved there it was just a stump and amazingly it grew to fill in the space and flowered a lot! she cut them both to the ground and pulled up half the roots of the butterfly bush...I've been crying for the last hour or so and been trying to get cuttings. Seems like she cut them early in the morning and most of them were wilted, but thank god today was overcast with no sun and stayed around 15*C I'm hoping what I could gather is enough to get at least one bush back...I've never been able to root anything an dI hope this is an exception. Even on sale, the bushes at walmart and canadian tire are at least $30 for a few stems

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

Thanks Cindy...I'm afraid the peony didn't get enough time to 'get ready for inter' and we have warm weather forcasted...sigh

Unfortunately, my dad cares about me and my plants just as much as my mom does, maybe even less...my mom told me to get out, i might stay awhile at the community garden after school tomorrow instead of going home, or I might just skip the whole day

I probably won't skip school, after all it has just been four days...since we just moved here, I haven't made any friends at the new school yet let alone know any councellors. most are busy trying to deal with timetable changes

[Linked Image] Oh Kenny, I'm so sorry....I don't understand why your mom would do that. Like Diane said if you have a school counselor maybe you could talk to them about this.

Keep reminding yourself that one day you'll be old enough to move out and have the biggest garden ever!!!! I wish I could fix things for you and make them better.

I know just how that is like Kenny, it's hard being the new kid in a new school. Give it some time and you'll have friends. I went thru 3 years of middle school as an outcast and was in the school counselors office all the time. Hang in there.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Can you call your local church and talk to someone there? That can help alot.

I don't know much about butterfly bushes but the peony should be fine. It may not bloom next year but it will survive.

Know that my prayers go with you. And it is possible to survive parents that aren't perfect by a long shot.

Kenny--I am so very sorry for you. As you can tell there are a lot of people here for you. And yes, hang in there. I also agree the counsolors are a great resourse for you to take advantage of.--you don't have to know them well for them to help you.

--one day you will be out on your own and can have as big a garden as you like--and we will all still be here to help you with it.

Smile & have a niced day!!! kissie

tears Oh no Kenny! I am so sorry you are going through this. I am sure the peony will be fine (I moved into a house where my BF had weed wacked those 'weeds' for (7?) years. I told him STOP and that year they bloomed profusely. Just remember some day you will have your own place with gardens galore!
Skipping school will not make this any better. tapfoot
Hang in there.[Linked Image]

Well...my anger is cooled downed a bit but I'm still disappointed. I'm on my spare right now and I'll propbably hang out at the community garden afterschool instead of going home. THanks everyone for your kind words and support.
