I've been trying to get a decent picture of my caryopteris for a few years now, but this color and my cameras just don't seem to agree. Finally, this morning, I was a success - hopefully I will be able to get another one when the flowers are opened more.

That's really nice! I bought a variegated one at Lowe's this summer on clearance. It was in pretty good shape. It isn't blooming yet, but it's about to. Do you take a lot of garden photos? One thing I've found is that the colors seem to look their best (in photos) early in the morning.

Hi Alan - thanks! Yes, I do take a LOT of gardening photos, and did manage to get out early this morning for this one. I have also found that the sun glare is not good in the middle of the day. Now that school is starting up again tomorrow, I'll be up and out very early in the day again, and hopefully will be able to get better pictures again.

I am still amazed at the great deals you found at Lowes. In our area, both Lowes and Home Depot HAVE to throw away the plants that don't sell, so they can get credit from the growers. It doesn't matter that they might still be green or have flower buds on them! It's truly a crime!
