Hey Carla...

A lady here at work told me to wrap a wet paper towel around it and put it in a plastic baggie and it'll keep good. Wonder what else can be done.

Just put the cut end in the baggie with the damp paper towel. Not the leafy part. Seal it as well as possible with a twisty tie without choking the stem to death. I have sent and received this way and it works. It may be better to wait for cooler weather though. They get really hot in transit.

What I'm going to do is put a wet paper towel around the stem where the roots are, put it in a baggie, close it but put air in it before I do. Then I'm going put it in a sm box and w/ newspapers around it so it doesn't get smooshed. Does that sound like a good plan?

Thank You jonni. I didn't see your response before I submitted the one above.

Newspapers suck the moisture out of the plant tops too much. Try something like cardboard tubes, paper towel or TP type to tuck them into. Or make a foil cone to help keep them from breaking.

That is an excellent idea!!! I'll be wrapping the roots with wet paper towel, i'll place the roots in the plastic baggie and twist tie it without chocking the stem. Then I'll place the baggie and plant inside a TP roll, lol!

Thanks again!

OH, I am also going to use a shoe box to mail and I'll put paper towels inside the box so they won't roll around.

Which is cheaper to mail UPS or the post office?

Postoffice is......The smaller the box or envelope , the better.

i just sent out a box this week, had a tracking number, was to get there in 3 days, it is 4 already and no sign of it ......
So much for tracking numbers......All the online website says, it left on monday.
