I finally get to the post office to mail Rita and Shirls packages. Of course as always I'm told she needs to see what is in the package to fill out the form.

She checks Shirls, yup no problem, it gets mailed. She checks Rita's, nope can't mail it she states. Uh, why not? I'm told it is non-mailable matter on the restriction list.

 How in the h#ll can a gel candle set be considered non mailable? Oh because it's a flammable substance..... So is all the paper in the mail(in my opinion). I called to put in a complaint yesterday hoping they deal with her soon, until then I will be off shopping for something else to send ya Rita.

Small town post offices are cr@p.

I'm sorry, Tam.

Penny sent me candles last year, no problem.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

It was a kit with all the tubes of gel to make up the candles yourself. You could fill the glass dishes with stones or shells..etc.

I have mailed internationally and I fill out our forms. No one has ever actually checked the contents though. At least on my end. That is sad, Tamara. I think you have a particularly nosy postal worker. And one with an awful sense of what is flammable.

MEeeee too! When I send a box to another country I take it to the post office taped ,addressed ,and sealed tight They have never asked to open and look in it , I just get a form to fill out i.e. gifts/discription and $$ value ? I've never heard of them looking in the box shock before unless it's a customs Office why I would have reported the clerk too, I have even sent Alcohol in the mail( Jim Beam) and there was never a problem.

Rita, I am going to try in a weeks time at the post office in town but I checked and perfumes, lotions and gels are on the Non-Mailable list now.

it probably depends on the person at the counter. Some are nice some are not nice.

I have one 'lady' at my post office that I avoid like crazy. The nice thing about her is she uses wrist braces (carpal tunnel?) and uses a sign saying "no packages over five pounds at this counter". Most of my packages are over five pounds. And if they weren't I would trade places with someone else in line to avoid her.
