The Gardener's Forum has had a lot of high points and low points, and even disappeared from the web twice so I can never say who was here first. Our current member roster begins on August 22, 2002 when I decided to try again.....
I know that we have many members who eventually found their way back home, but on August 23 member number seven decided to stick it out one more time and went through the process of joining my forum one more time. For that I will always be grateful!
Even though his post count has only earned him a "first" gold bar, he is a Master Gardener who has consistently and continually been here to help our members resolve their plant problems and solve their mysteries of what they have growing in their gardens and homes. Why? No glitter, no glory.... He just enjoys helping people grow better!
On August 23, 2002, Alan K Hart rejoined The Gardener's Forum as our seventh member and has made the world a better place ever since! After five years of selflessly helping our member's gardens grow and flourish, I think that today it is about time to acknowledge all his help and good work! Thank you Alan! You are the personification of the whole "true" reason that the internet and web were formed... to share information and to help those in search of answers.
You have my heartfelt thanks for helping me make our forum become what it is.
I salute you and toast to you, and declare August 23 to be "Alan's Day" at the Gardener's Forum.
Thank you Alan.... You have made the world a better place!
Now it all makes sense! I had noticed that the wisdom in your words and the number of your posts did not add up at all!! I am new, and you have already helped me out. Thank you, Alan.
Alan You have put fire under me more than once to get to Lowes to catch those deals You always seem to get in on, tho they haven't had the same plants for sale here you always get me motivated to go see ~ Just in case
Most importantly when I expressed that I couldn't get hold of any fanfare seeds , not even packaged at the nursery , or even the plant, you offered to send me some of yours, you had just harvested that day! I was thrilled!!! within a week I had fanfare seeds. Again That showed your loyality to gardening and reached out to share what you had grown, Every year when the fanfare blooms I will say "Thanks Alan"

Heck! I missed an important date, but would like to acknowledge AlanKHart who is very knowledgeable about all things green and has such good advice to go along with it! But as Bill says, it's not always the knowledge, but the willingness to generously share it, that is so genuinely appreciated.
Yes, thank you indeed Alan, I always learn a lot from your posts, and you are just a skilled gardener! And so humble at that too!
Helping the world one seed at a time
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee
