I have a plant that I received when my grandfather passed away. I want to keep it alive, but I have no clue what kind it is. It was potted with a bunch of other types of plants. I've recently divided the plants into pots of their own, and this is the only one I'm not sure how to care for. No one seems to know the name of it. It grows up, but the leaves on it look like fingers. They are green with some yellow. Does anyone know what they might be called or how to take care of them? Anyhelp would be great.

Thank You

Sounds like a croton. There is a recent post you can do a search for under mystery plants from 8/7/07 Shirley4 bought one with no tag and it was kindly identified as a croton. There are some pretty good pictures there.

ShadyLadyMn,

That is exactly the plant I have. I looked it up. Wow, the ones I found online are a lot bigger and brighter colored than mine. I can't wait for mine to get that size. It'll be gorgeous.

Thanks again.

When I got home, I looked at my plantand I'm not thinking that's what I have, but then again I don't know. I have it scanned to my computer, but I have no clue how to get the picture posted on here. If someone can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

I still think it's a croton. They come in a wide variety of colors and leaves apparently. It seems that when they are young they are more finger-like, but that too could just be a variation. I googled croton images and agree that the ones they have are not exactly like yours, but it was hard to get a big picture for me too. Maybe someone has a different opinion? why

I have the same one. I asked about mine too, and was told my members on here
that it is a croton.
Here is mine.
