I love the little green dress!!..in the 2 Month album. She looks like a toy doll!!

In Finally Home album..I love the green sleeper with cows....and she looks sooo tiny in that car seat or carrier!!

In the Three Months album she is just getting cuter and cuter! All the bath pictures are wonderful....I like that picture of the three of you!

She is starting to do little baby push-ups.....well...kinda. Let me preface...

For developmental milestones, we go by what is called the "corrected age". Corrected age is basically going from her due date instead of her birth date. So, by corrected age, she would be 39 1/2 weeks gestation......or negative 1/2 week old. So, we should basically be seeing her doing things that a normal new born would do. Well, I looked at a list of things that a one month old should be doing developmentally and she is doing all of those things already. Ok...back to push-ups. We do our "tummy time" when she is actually awake (2 two-hour long blocks every day). Its especially important for her to do the tummy time because she didnt get that last month in the uterus to get new born baby muscle tone stuff. Well, on her tummy, she picks her head up and moves it back and forth and is starting to push up with her arms quite a bit....something that a 3 month old starts doing. When I hold her, she is constantly pushing with her legs too. She still does the whole squatty thing when we try to "stand" her on a table, but she is starting to keep her legs rigid sometimes. So, I think developmentally, she's a bit ahead of the game. At her last appt., the dr. was surprised at how much head and neck control she had.

Jiffy, do you know when your coming up next? I hope it isn't while we are away in Canada....you might have to join us up there!! lol We'll only be gone for 5 days.

Shirley, she always has her hands and arms up. She even sleeps like that!!! And if you notice, she prefers to have her head looking to the right. It is because in the NICU, if a baby has the CPAP or the respiratory machine on, then their head is usually to the right because most of the nurses are right-handed. We are working on putting it to the left if she is laying in her swing or in the pack and play so that she doesn't get a flat head on that side! lol

Oh....and when she gets hungry, she sounds like a guinea pig! lol

Glad you liked the pictures. I'll put a few more in thr 3 month album tomorrow.

We had an eye doctor appt. for Maddie today. The dr. is looking for signs of something called ROP. It is something that preemies get alot. Maddie hates these appts. and cries soo hard that she is wiped out for the rest of the day. So, I grabbed some pictures of her sleeping in her boppy pillow (she gets heavy after a while) and added them to the Month 3 album....enjoy.

Jenn,
She is a beautiful little girl - and a miracle to boot- she is doing really well to be starting to be pushups already- she looks so cute asleep in her boppy... love those - we had them for the twins too- somehow she nursed them both at same time with one but I can't describe how she did it....

double football hold I would assume. :) Now, the Boppy is great for playing video games too! You can rest your hands on it. lol

We have a Bumbo seat that I'm just itching to use! I can't wait until she can hold her head up well enough for it!

All the preemie testing is hard. Our preemie niece hated the sight of doctors. She had stayed in an incubator so long that she also hated being touched, she'd cry when she felt a hand on her. They said it was from knowing human touch equaled pain from the needles and testing, took her a long time to get over it.

Maddie isn't like that as far as touch, thank God. Our NICU was really good about getting her out of the incubator and holding her....and we were there every single day (we only missed 2 days!) and if we didn't get her out, then our hands were always in the incubator with her. I think we've actually spoiled her with holding and such because she would rather be held than put down...especially if she is tired. She knows that if we hold her, we'll put her on our shoulder and that is the "on the belly" feeling that she likes. But she doesn't scream or anything if we aren't holding her.....she just does this whiny sound.

Today we are going for our WIC appt. to see if we qualify. If we do, then they will help us pay for her formula ($12.63 for a can). She is on a higher calorie formula specially designed for preemies. It is 22 calories/ounce, but we have to mix it so that she gets 24 cal/ounce. I think that will end once she goes back to the dr in a couple weeks. I got on the scale with her this morning and she is at least 6 1/2 pounds!!!! The scale said 7, but she had clothing on and wires and our scale is only accurate to the 1/2 pound. I almost want to take her to the produce department of the grocery store and stick her in one of those scales to see just how much she weighs! lol
