This is my first attempt at adding a photo.
I took these pictures a few weeks ago in the hopes that someone would be able to name this beautifully robust plant!

I don't know either. But it is pretty. Is it a cultivated plant or something out in the wild?

Cultivated. I've never seen anything like it. It reminds me of something in the Figwort family with those flowers though. It is a few years old but has never flowered before.

Very pretty. And a good job with the photo too. And figuring out how to post it.

Could it be a turtle head, or snake plant?

Helping the world one seed at a time

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

It is Acanthus, aka., Bear's Breeches. I have 2 of them, but because we often get early spring freezes, mine don't always bloom.

generally used is Acanthus mollis, you have Acanthus spinosa.

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!

My dad has those. He doesn't like them. I'm not sure why. Dad can get a little cranky from time to time.

Hahaha! Mabe he got cut too!
My mother in law was moving the pot and she got a papercut by one of the flower petals!!
The one in the picture was in a crowded planter 'till this year. I think mabe thats why it never flowered before.
