I've mentioned in other threads that I am making a sweater out of Red Heart "Kooky" yarn - it's a boucle with splotches of colors throughout. I've only found it in WalMart locally, and on ebay online.

Well... today, in my yarn search, I was in A.C.Moore, and there was the yarn!
Only it was sold by Lion Brand, and called Mystery!

Now, that really is a mystery - did they buy the rights from Coats and Clark - Red Heart is a subdivision of that company? I just went on Lion Brand's website, and they are a private family owned business, so they are not also a subdivision. I find this very odd!

Has anyone else found this situation with other yarn types?

That is a mystery!!! It would be interesting to follow that through and actually find out the answer! Can you get an email address for the Lion Brand website and ask about this?! Or ask at the other brands web site!

We will probably all be looking for, or noticing this about other types of yarn now that you pointed this out.

Very interesting! teach
