I have no idea. But it sure is pretty. Is that a day lily? Hard to tell without foliage.

Try a close up of yours .You can do it.
PS..........the leaves are shaped different on yours.Check it out.

Definitely Mexican Shellflower...I used to grow them, both yellow and orange ones. Mine didn't make it through a really cold winter and I never got more.

dodge my leaves are the same as yours, you can see em in the botton middle of my pic,[ pay no attation to the weeds! lol ]
i container grow them cause like alan says a hard winter can kill em off easy, or for my zone a regular winter can kill em easy, you might wanna dig em up for winter storage.

No digging for me .I put them in a large potted barrel and all I am going to do is put it into the heated basement.

what u have is Tigridia pavonia or Tiger flower..also known s Mexican Shellflower... http://www.sunnygardens.com/garden_plants/tigridia/tigridia_2870.php

Beautiful... i have a plant which i suspect is d same plant...T. pavonia that is... but it has not flowered ...so not sure...may b not..i'll have to wait...ugh!!

Saturday I had a pink one bloom and didnt see it till it closed.. I have 3 colors so far.
