I bought this one around a month ago. Didn't really know what it was going to look like. I coul've sworn I kept the tag, but it is no where in sight. Once again I think the rabbit did it. What is called and will it be easy to save seed?

Everytime I come to post on here and go back online to do searches I find out what it is. I was searching for another annual under "A" and it was there. Ageratum. Still wondering if harvesting seed from it will be easy.

Yep, ageratum or flossflower, I think you just let the flower die off and collect seeds, the seeds that I have are like little sticks so I would imagine its like collecting sashta daisy seeds

Helping the world one seed at a time

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

You can collect & save the seed, and Kenny is right, lots of chaff mixed in with little sticks. Mostly chaff, as a matter of fact.

Your Ageratum might be an F1 hybrid. If it is, you will get lousy germination from those sticks, and a lot of strange seedlings of varying heights, some with looser placements of flowers, some might not bloom for months and months after others. A real mixed bag, but still blue, still fuzzy, and still an Ageratum.

Thanks for the info Kenny and Partygirl. I will save seed and see what happens next year. If it's close to this one then it was worth it.
