I made part of these birdhouses myself. I got a 2x4 stuck it in the ground and painted it white to match my front porch. I purchased some cheap birdhouses in the sale at Wal Mart and also Joanne's. I think I paid less than $5 for each house.Joanne's has a 70% clearance sale on all garden things at the moment. I have three different ones in my front garden, a green, a yellow and a red one. I just bought another blue bird cedar box at Wal Mart for under $5 that I plan to stick on my back deck. Even if I bought the wood, my husband told me he couldn't make a cedar bird box for $5. I am also planning on making a bat box so the bats can eat the mosquitos. I will post a plan and the box after it it made in a few weeks. I hope you can see my pic. Julie
