Bought this at the USF Botanical fall sale. But, I don't know the name. It's in partial shade on S side of garden. I've been taking cuttings and spreading it around hoping for a nice ground cover. It gets small white flowers. Is it deutiza chardonay? I accidentally found a picture that looks like it on Nature Hills website under shrubs. Here's mine

Thanks, but I checked out some other sites and it's not a toad lily, although they are pretty interesting. Any other thoughts?

maybe a different specie of Tricyrtis

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!

It always gets tiny white flowers. Are you familiar with the bridal veil plant? The bridal veil ALMOST looks like a miniature wandering jew, and it has tiny white flowers too.

Anyway, the plant I have is very similar in growth pattern to the bridal veil and wandering jew, and propagates as easily too. The size of the flowers on this mystery plant are probably a bit smaller than the size of a shirt collar button. If the camera had batteries I'd show you, but that will have to wait.

i'd say it is trandescatia, just a solid green variety. the flowers sound like the "green" version of what is commonly called purple heart.

Here is a photo of the plant I'm wondering about.

another shot with the flowers.

I'm stummped.

Checked Solomon's Seal - nope. Checked trandescatia - probably same family, but none I looked at were close enough. I've already ruled out toad lily, the flowers are much too small and solid white.

The sun has drifted further south and sneaks under the oak branches and either has burned them up a bit or dried them out. Although it is our rainy season here, the last several days haven't seen much rain. No watering on my part either since my husband and I were OOT celebrating our 25th anniversary! Woo-hoo! Short trip, but fun...we went on a mystery dinner train. Fun play and I guessed the murderer!

a botanist friend of mine gave me something like that. she said it was an un-named trandescantia. so that's what i'm going with.
