Can anyone tell me why my peace lily blooms are green instead of white?

Hi elcile - were they always green? Some peace lily flowers turn green as they get older, while other hybrid varieties will produce green flowers right away – it’s how they’ve been bred and thus you cant do anything about it!

Thank you for your answer--they were white blooms but now they bloom green!

when they turn green after a while, i usually cut them off, just before they go brown, which they will because the bloom will be "spent"

I also have a Peace Lilly with green flowers. It is a huge plant, many years old and the blooms have always been white. This year it has 1 white bloom and about 50 green ones???

I care for approximately 200 house plants, many tropicals. There is really no rhyme or reason for my collection. Some were gifts, some I purchased because it was odd or beautiful. My husband is building our second green house now as winter is coming. I am not an educated gardner, just a lover of nature and plants. I am hopeful this web site will help me become educated on what I love doing.
