I posted a couple of years ago about a large plant with large leaves. It grows up to 4 ft. tall and has a cluster of tiny pink flowers in late summer. It also makes new plants the next year from root, sometimes 10 ft. away from the original. I now have them all over my yard and if I don't want it there I just mow it down. But I don't remember the name of it, and I changed computers.
Any help I think weezie helped me before.

I'm not too familiar with Bergenia,
especially how it spreads itself around.

But zoink I'm all too familiar with Clerodendrum bungei
(commonly called "Cashmere Bouquet", "Glory rose Bower" or "Mexican Hydrangea")
which I thought might be what you had, just from the description -
this stuff is running rampant in my garden -
... your photo looks like it, too.

Some pictures HERE

I agree, It isn't bergenia as I know it. Bergenia is a tidy spreading plant with a basal rosette of leaves. The only stalk/stem is the one the flowers form on.
