I love the contrast between the poppies, sweet william, and the black pansies. also in the shot daisies, california poppies, unflowering lupins, wild evening primrose, hostas,allisum[Linked Image]this is the super dry area of the garden where the ground is very dry mineral based hard ground that cooks in the sun all day these plants seem to love it!

that really looks good! does it self seed or do you have to redo it every year?

the sweet william is one of those plants that appeared in the garden and I did'nt even know what it was or where it came from. the black pansies were planted last year and survived a very cold winter! everything else simply came back from seed or survived the winter, the california poppies seem to come back better every year , they're my favorite, ever since when I lived in northern california. it is something to see meadows for miles and miles covered with millions of golden poppies[Linked Image]

You know I have found with all the plants I have. The Butterflies seem to love the Queen Anne's Lace growing wild in my field . LOL!
