I'm just checking in real quick to let everyone know that my surgery went pretty well this morning. The biggest issue was getting my pain under control after I came out of anesthesia. 2 oxycodone and 10mg of morphine later my pain was under control enough for them to let me go home. I still have a considerable amount of pain and it's awfully hard for me to manuver the stairs so I won't be on here much until I'm off the pain meds a bit and don't feel so nervous about the stairs. I'll try to check in about once a day though. Please keep me in your thoughts that I recover well from this and the pain doesn't last too much longer. Hope everyone is doing well!

Cheryl, I hope you are doing well. And like Diane said. Do not overdo. yes, you may feel like it--but there is no hurry. DH can help and when you feel better you can do all the things that need done. believe me, it will all wait. lol

Thanks everyone. kissie So far today I'm feeling a little better. The kids and Dad were great yesterday. The girls met me in the driveway to take my purse for me and hold the door open. They brought everything I needed to my bedside for me and they even made me a grilled cheese sandwich. Later Daddy and kids went to the store for me and picked up all the things I needed and they even brought me back an unexpected treat of starbucks ice cream. Had a little trouble sleeping last night, b/f kept bumping my pillow that my foot was elevated on, so Ashley helped me move out to the couch where I could be undisturbed. Been sleeping a lot, the pain pills really knock me out but I think that's a good thing because they also make me feel nauseous. Thanks again for all the well wishes and keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.

Last night I took my b/f up on his offer to take me out. I really wanted to get out of the house and was feeling okay. I only lasted about an hour because of the pain meds and he brought me back home again. I slept too long and when I woke up this morning I was in a lot of pain and I noticed that a couple of my toes and the top part of my foot were numb so I had to call the consulting nurse. Not bad news though. They said it sounded like it was just a nerve thing and that it should go away in a couple days. Pain meds kicked in and I'm feeling okay right, just sore. My foot really doesn't like not being elevated for any length of time so I think I'll just spend most of the day on the couch today. Tomorrow I'm hoping to be able to handle going out to breakfast.

seems like this day and age, they could invent a pain pill that takes care of the pain but does not leave you loopy (or sick) touched

Well, today I started decreasing my pain meds. I think today has been my best day yet, didn't have much pain when I woke up today, I was able to manage a sponge bath last night, I even did the dishes today and my b/f brought all the laundry downstairs for me and set up a stool between the washer and dryer for me so I could do laundry. Tomorrow we're going to do some grocery shopping, I get to use one of electric cart things. That'll be interesting. Well, I have to go for now, hope everyone is doing well and a million more thanks and kisses for all your thoughts and prayers, I think they're working!
