OK---this is probably pretty weird, but I think the symmetry of this particular flower-head and stem is pretty remarkable. It's just cool!

I don't have that color. You'll have to save some of them seeds for the fall seed fling.I have liliac color and hot pink.I got a hot pink seedling growing.got one seedling out of how many seeds we're in the pod.I wintersowed it and its 3 inches tall now.

That is beautiful! I have/had 1 crepe myrtle - bought 2 a few years ago, and only one made it for 2 years but is now dead. They are very hard to grow here - my friend also bought 2 the same time and neither of hers made it the first season.

Can you really grow them from seeds?
I'd love to try that sometime!

This one was cut to ground about 1 ft and dug out with tractor and moved to my yard this is after 2 years.I've just started shapeing it some.I'm waiting to shape more this fall and will try rooting the stems removed.I have an older seedling thats met hubbys mower goofs....more than once. Its 4 yrs old now and looks alot better after not getting cropped for a year.I'd like to see it bloom this year.I'm just glad it looks better this year than its 1st 3 years.I'll get a shot of it also and post later.(dial up posting is murder//worse than rush hour at times.)
They have some hardier versions of CM out now.I'll find my neil spray book that mentioned it.They trialed them in washington DC.
yes they will grow from seed.
