ToDeTa and Megan

Some of you may remembe my little dog ToDeTa who got sick, went to the vet, was restrained, lost circulation in her leg, and had to have it amputated.

And the girl is Megan, my niece, who came to town for the weekend. She's so cute and sweet.

Hi Jonni. What happened is that ToDeTa ate part of a ball. We knew she had done it because part of the ball was gone and she was sick but it didn't show up on an x-ray so the doctor didn't believe us. We kept taking her back and forth to the doctor because she got sicker and sicker - down to 4 pounds and crying all the time, until we finally took her to the emergency vet. They did surgery to remove part of her colon, which had the piece of ball in it, but they restrained her for too long and damaged her leg.

She just turned 21. She went to a bar with a friend so she could "drink" and ordered a Shirley Temple. She thought it was an alcoholic drink.

She never acted like missing a leg bothers her at all. It bothered us and still bothers my husband. Sometimes if she has an itch she tries to scratch with her little stub. My husband is so sad for her.

awwww, poor baby. you know, it usually works that way. the parents/owners feel much worse than the child/animal.

Johnny says that's what makes him so sad. The fact that she just keeps on without complaining.
