After reading Crickets Texas joke, I decided to post ours for our province of New Brunswick. We are considered part of the Maritimes, have a laugh...


You Know Your From The Maritimes When...

8. You see people wearing hunting clothes at social events.

9. You install security lights on both your house and garage and go and leave both unlocked.

10. You think of the major food groups as: Meat, Fish and Tim Hortons.

11. You carry jumper cables in your car and your wife knows how to use them.

12. There are seven empty cars running in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire store at any given time.

13. You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.

14. Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.

15. Your lingerie consists of tube socks and flannel pajamas.

16. You know all 4 seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter and Construction.

17. It takes three hours to go to the store for one item, even when you're in a hurry because you have to stop and talk to everybody in town. And Finally: You know you live in the Maritimes when...

some of them i got, some of them applied to the area where i live in GA and one made no sense. what is a tim horton? sounds like a person

Tim Hortons is the most famous coffee shop here....it's like a drug ;lol: People drive 30 minutes just to get coffee there

I can relate to the one about wearing hunting gear to social events! ha ha. I've seen that here as well.

the one about the halloween costume over the snow gear cracked me up.

Even in S. Cal. I always planned my kids costume to go over at least sweats. October 31st evening is usually very cool here.

i learnt that on my way up to my french college...never knew it applied to you guys as well

Here, where I am in Tx., halloween costume planning can be a bit stressful. our first cold front normally comes in sometime around the end of Oct. Of course, if it comes in a couple of days b4 halloween it could be back up to mid 80's by halloween. Or, if it comes in at the last minute you gotta wrestle a 4 year old to put a jacket on over his bat man costume!

We have snow here by Hallowe'en so you have to buy the costume 2 sizes larger to fit over a snow suit...Tell that to a three year old who wants to dress as a ballerina in a tutu and pink little leotard...I remember those fights

Actusally that'd be Illinois a lot of years. it seems the older I get the more the weaterh is totally irratic. The joka has long been if you do not like the weather in IL wait awhile, it will change.----it is still that way, only now it goes from one extreme to another in 1 day.

and while I have not ever had to wrestle a 4 yr old to put on a jacket, I did have to get creative several years so my girls would not freeze nor catch their death, while out. A few times, I even had to 'change' out the original costumes.

Did not have that fight, but some similiar.--but oh to have those times back--I would in a minute.

A lot of those fit for MN too! They are good!

We have to plan halloween costumes to fit over snow suits also. If I buy a costume I have to buy it 2 or 3 sizes bigger so it fits.
