The red on the head is WHY they are called Turkey Vultures. This was an accidental shot that turned out accidentally GOOD for a flight shot. I saw him coming, got him focused and got ready, and when he was closest to me, with the best angle and lighting, I took the picture. He was about 40 feet above me when I shot this.
