Any of you grow Silene?

Someone sent me a pkt with one seed in it. I just dumped it all on top of my soil .ANd the bugger grew.
What is it like to raise? SUppose to be pink.
thanks any info at all.

this is all I found on it Dodge
silene/catch fly plant
Up to 2 ft.
flower Color: Brilliant magenta bright Pink
Plant Type: Annual. Lives just one year. Grows quickly, blooms heavily, dies with first frost. Can regrow following spring if seed falls on bare ground.
flower Type: Clustered flowerheads of tiny flowers
Bloom Time: Mid-season

It's a perennial in some places but a short lived one...3 years at most.

Then isnt that similiar to how columbines grow? I plant seed yearly an they bloom like the 2nd ? Right ?

Dodge - I have that plant - it gets teensy tiny seeds and will spread all over if you let it. It is an annual here, but every year I get at least a few that I am able to transplant very carefully to an area I'd rather have it - the seedlings can pop up anywhere because as I've said the seeds are so tiny!

Same color as Diane posted - I didn't know it comes in other colors?

Each flower stem seems to last a pretty long time - I never noticed how long exaactly though.
