can I grow garlic from some cloves on my counter?

Yes you can, Enrique. Try and divide as much as you can with a piece of the 'root' end attached. plant it about 2-3 inches deep and enjoy. It will also act as a deterrent for critters a little bit. I use it to border places that I don't want them to cross.
