Love the pool Loz! Wish I could jump in right about now!!

Funny you should ask Lynne. I don't have a water vacuum, so I just went out and bought a pool one today. I also bought a bigger tube float and a beach ball.

And Jess, I AM going to jump in there right now, I'll think of you while I do it! I need to get in and do the vacuuming.

What a lovely way to have to vacuum.

After I vacuumed you would've all laughed.

I bought a bigger tube float. One that I could actually sit my butt on without it sinking. Then I used the smaller tube float to stick my feet up on. I just floated around. Mark came home last night and came outside and was laughing at me.....I didn't know he was up there until I heard the snickers. I said hey, don't knock it until you've tried it.



The water was so warm.

It reached 101 degrees today and was very humid. So when the shade hit the backyard we were in there. Stayed in for over an hour too.

Athena found it hilarious that Mark was in the pink girly tube.

that looks like so much fun. and i thought it was corey in that first picture! until i scrolled down farther.

Fun and cooling. And good exercise to boot. Dad gets in, haven't got mom in it yet though.

I made a mistake the other day. I thought I was 13 again and did a front flip. My ears hurt for a few days from the water getting in them and I couldn't get it out....I do go under the water, but flipping and stuff just makes it worse.

I'm not so young anymore. When I was a kid we'd see who could do the most flips in a row, or the longest handstand.

Athena bought her new pink Strawberry Shortcake ball yesterday and her flower shaped pool noodle. Course Mark is like a big kid and spent a long time pushing her around the pool at super fast speeds.....

My pool has about a million pollywogs in it right now.... They seem to be enjoying it!

pollywogs have to swim somewhere too!!!

Well I'm glad something is enjoying it! That's all that matters right?

Wow though, is it ever nice on a really hot day to jump in there.

And the care isn't as hard as I thought. We just have the floating chlorine dispenser. Haven't had issues too bad with the water since we figured out that we needed to tie it up right in front of the outake area...that way it dissolves quicker....the tablets are great. We put a couple in a day and it wasn't that expensive for the bucket of them.

Since I got the pool vacuum the water has stayed nice and clean. Makes me feel like I'm about 13 all over again.

So glad you all are enjoying it so much, Loz! It looks like great fun, and how nice for Athena to be able to enjoy it too - she will have great memories of these times with her aunt and uncle, and grandparents!!!

I thought of that Lynne. I was 7 when we moved to the US and I have LOTS of memories from when I was younger and lived in England. So I hope she remembers some of this stuff that we do together. :ding:

I am sure she will, Loz--and these are such good memories to be remembering.

I had to get in and clean it good last night. We had a BIG storm come thru with 60 mph wind gusts. I mean I thought we were going to get a tornado or something. All the inflatables went flying out of the pool down the yard and we were chasing them then I looked up the mt behind us and I said look Mark, the rains coming it's pouring down just up there.....(because it was all solidly hazed out)....

Come to find out that wasn't the rain at all. That was a huge wall of dust blowing down the mountain. Never in all my life here have I see such a thing. I wish I had my camera with me......

Needless to say the bottom of the pool was really gross after that went thru.....thankful for pool vacuums.

Wow, a dust storm. I've only seen that once in my life also and it was the strangest thing. Looked just like a locust was coming in....

sounds like the storm we had on thursday, Loz! That sucker was fierce! we could see the sheets of raining coming down the mountain before it got to us. thunder and lighting and the power even went off for a few minutes. BUT...afterward it totally cooled down...it was GREAT!

its too hot here to even want in the pool, 102 so far today hext index makes it feel like 105

I love a good summer storm to cool things off!

About 5 minutes after the dust rolled in a solid line down the mountain it started POURING down with rain......it is absolutely one of the freakiest things I've ever seen weather wise.

Belinda, do you get in the pool in the evening. I would never get in during the day here because it's too hot & the pool is too sunny and I burn. By evening though it's all shaded and it's cooled down some outside.

105 with the index is HOT. 101 about killed me the other day....not sure what it was the index.

Today I'm inside sucking in the AC....

suppose to get rain tomorrow but usually in the summer it only heats things up more, more steamy and humid, but we need the rain. Starting to get those big cracks in the ground again

Wow, I don't think I'd be able to stand such heat but then again you get used to where you live. Gee, it's probably like you all thinking you couldn't live here.

Better start up topic #2 Loz....

just like from here to PA is a big ajustment. We spent the summer there one year and it was so nice, excet the pool never warmed up. I like when it's like 70 and I can go for anything in that are til you get down to about 30.

Probably drain my pool next week, school starts on August 18 and it's been too hot to swim in it anyway
