My peace lilies have alot of brown leaves on them but they are putting out new leaves , what can i do for them , they look awful , can i cut them off to about three inches above the pot, they are about 6 years old i recieved them at my dads funeral i really dont want to lose them can you please help me ?

Brown leaves on your lily means that it is stressed...usually to over or under watering. If the leaves are on the bottom...i'd trim them off.

Has it been in the same sized pot all these years?

No it has been seperated and the pots have been changed every year, to a bigger size.

Your plant is stressed...it might be getting moved around too much as well. I only re-pot every 3 years.
