Link to the old topic with my old small pond, and new bigger pond.
I only started this because I'll need a place for future pics AND my neighbor just gave me a jar with TWO big frogs in it for in the pond! YAY! I released them into their new home and they are just sitting in the water right now! Highlight of my month.

Ummm, a cat or something knocked that into the deep part of the pond.....I need to make Mark get it out for me! Get lots of strays around the pond.
I have froggy pics to post as soon as I upload them.

I hope they don't either!!!!! If they disappear I know it will be because of a ferral cat....there are so many here. Not just people's pets that are let outside, but totally wild cats. They're always sneaking up on my birds.
I LOVE the pond....love it! Next year I really might work on a waterfall type feature.

Thanks!
Ya know I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine that if they are wild and hungry enough they'll go after anything that they could catch.....they eat fish and frogs are sort of fishy right?

Cats will catch frogs. :( Will the frogs eat your fish? I have a pond/puddle/wet spot, across the street. Used to be really noisy in the spring time, all the frogs down there partying up.

Thanks, in the future I want to add more big grasses around it!
Guess what? I just walked down to the pond to top it off and I have a gazillion frog eggs in there! Tons of them.
Those 2 frogs wasted no time getting busy!

Yeah, I jokingly said to my neighbor(her daughter got them for me), that it would be funny if they had babies and I had a bunch of tadpoles...little did I realize what would happen!

Love the night shot. ( looks like the perfect spot to sit on the bench, have a drink, get up, and fall in the pond!
In the pic Frog 1 what is that floaty plant called?

That's water hyacinth.....I really needed a lot more for this pond, but I bought it when I still had my old small pond.
The pics don't do it justice at night.....well night pics never do, do they? It's so pretty at night!

Just took a few pics....I moved my Trellis over near the pond and planted Thunbergia at the base of each section....Just want to document things for the future so I can come back and look at how things were.

Wow, everything looks so green and lush. Beautiful pics Loz.
I am steady moving things around as well....guess that's the reason why I can never get my garden journal finished

My garden journal only gets written in when I remember. Which isn't too often. Everything looks good now, but come August everything will be all brown and dried out....

Well I just wanted to add that today I bought 3 common goldfish that I named Bill, Cindy, and Jiffy. Just released them into the pond.
And I also got 2 different Iris'--those pond plant kind in the little egg bubble, they were reduced to $3 each and they only had a few left, no more lilies.
One has a little green poking up, the other looks pretty dead--we'll see what happens.
