This is delicious....and simple

Take a whole picnic ham...(cured and salted)

Rinse off but leave the netting on it. Place in a large stock pot on a rack of some sort(the ham will stick to the bottom if not)

Cover the ham fully with water, add 2 cups of yellow sugar, 2 whole onions(peeled but not chopped) and two bottles of Coors light beer(seems to give the best taste)

Boil for at least 5 hours. (You'll have about an inch of sauce left in the pot)

Remove from heat and cut up ham and onions in chunks, place all and leftover sauce in roaster and bake for 30 minutes at 350*.

Delicious.

Carol, you can boil the ham the day before and cool it down, then the next day reheat it and do the beer & brown sugar finishing ...we did that for God-daughters baby shower and they tasted just as good.
