Talk about a TOTAL WHITEOUT!!! I feel for ya, Dodge!

We are supposed to get either 1-3 inches or 3-6 inches tonight into tomorrow morning before it's supposed to turn to rain. Seems they cannot make up their minds. I hope it's next to nothing - I need to go out tomorrow and run some errands!

So how is the new blower? is it hand driven or an attachment for your tractor?

Tamara ,

We have both

Hand blower I use 32 inch

HD used the Tractor 9 foot job.

I just talked him into buying it the week before the bad storm.
He is thanking me no.

I had the hand blower about 4 years an never had to use it till last winter.
Now who knows.

We have a 5 ft blower for our Zetor...never owned a hand blower in my life. Our storms are always too much for them to handle...until this year lol

Mind you even with the 5 foot blower I can clean the driveway in a flash.

Well your on the level an short driveway.

Mine is on a hill and not paved, and L shaped. Not a pretty picture in winter.
The christmas trees we planted on the lane help millions. But the yard is the bad hill an a problem this year. Only aboutr 3 years I remember we had this bad.

I have a short driveway but the driveway to my barn is up hill, not paved and three acres long. We should plant a wind break also but then I can't see the horse pasture from my house if I did that. We keep the horses and cattle separated.

Ya know, barb--I was wondering---do ya think my leaf blower would work on powdery snow??? because THAT I have. last time DH really got out & cleaned snow, he spent a week in bad flat on his back shock So he really picks & choses what he does out in the snow any more.

The guy at work tells him to buy me a snow shovel with a pink hanlde--]well he can buy it , but I ain't in any shape to shovel either-- rolz

Tamara

On your way there, stop an do ours.LOL

Junigirl & mate dont sound like the farm types.

I blew snow again today.. It is nothing like a leaf blower. This is an auger type.

Tamara you must of healed well from what ever you had before.

yea, well we WERE farm types, at one time. We even had a wood burning hot water stove to heat the farm house with.. Rod & my dad cut 14 heaping pick-up loads of wood each year to use in the stove. he & I both loaded up the stove (fed the fires) and removed ashes from it, all fall, winter & spring.
it is just that him working in a car plant was not kind to his body & for me having all of those operations on top of osteoporosis has not been kind to MY body. So here we sit, trying to be careful.

Nope...in fact I'm in the process of a fight right now to keep myself from going under the knife again...they want to remove part of my bowels....but I'm very tough...hard work is good for a body(when you're still partially young lol) .

...I know Juniegirl really misses her wood stove.

Thanks Tamara, I really Do but I was thinking yesterday, even if Rod would put one in in the basement, (we have talked) I could not care for it, so it is just as well it is gone

Tamara, please take care---sometimes an easy fix can become a dangerous situation if you do not take care of it properly.---ask me, I will tell ya

Nothing meant by it.

10 in our family, I am the only one who settled for farm life.

It is my type of life.
I find town so boring. Set an look at the neighbors all day.

If you have nice ones .ok. Mine arent. They try to rule an nose troubles.

Sometimes I think I want to live in town so I can have a sidewalk, stores close by and convenience. But it's been 30 years since I've lived like that so I might not really like it. I have a friend who lives in town and can walk to a restaurant or to a store. She's getting exercising plus having a good time. I have to drive everywhere I go and sometimes I get tired of it.

Oh Sheri, I know the feeling. I live in the middle of nowhere...it has it's advantages and disadvantages. It's nice for the quietness but makes it tough to get things done.

Sheri, I was raised in town.
When I married we moved out into the country.
Now we are back in town.

now, while I like both places, I think out in the country is best....
the benefits far out weigh the burdons.

haha

It's about time to get that 4 leaf clover shined up for St. Patricks Day.

I wish we could all visit or live in the same neighborhood. It would be a beautiful neighborhood.

I have often thought it would be wonderful for all of us live real close.

then yes, we would have wonderful neighbors, and yes, I agree it would be a Beautiful neighborhood indeed.
