That turned out cute, Jiffy. You ought to pick up a hook and learn to crochet, Barb. then you could be thoroughly warm and fashionable.

Cute Tam Jiffy. Your hands must be feeling lots better since you are crocheting blankets once again? How many do you need to make for the women at work?

I used a "K" hook and worked in Half-Double crochet. I started out with a ring of 10 HDC and increased ten HDC's each round making a giant flat circle, Then, I decreased 10 each round until I reached my head size. Then, working in the SIDE post of each HDC I worked even for about 5 rounds until I had a 1 inch band at the bottom. That's all there is to it. You can work in multiple colors, changing colors as you see fit to get interesting results. Easiest hat I ever designed. cool thorny. when i get a free minute, i might try this.
Cute Tam Jiffy. Your hands must be feeling lots better since you are crocheting blankets once again? How many do you need to make for the women at work? thanks for asking about the hands lynne. it is hit and miss. but when i am riding in the car with scott, crochet (or reading or whatever) is a defense mechanism. i don't complain if i can't see how he's driving because i'm focused elsewhere!
there are 2 pregnant women at work, and 2 in lion's club. i just use what ever size hook will fit in my hands at the time (the more swollen the hands are, but bigger the hook) and work at a slower pace if the hands are bad. but, even when they were their worst, and i couldn't even hold a hair brush, the way i hold my crochet hook didn't hurt if i had a large enough hook weird i know. but i have to say, i'm glad i didn't lose everything. i'd go crazy if i couldn't do anything any more. i've had to give up way too much as it is.

And that is funny because a crochet hook is something I have to give up when my hands are at their arthritic worst. But I can still clutch and pull weeds or use a trowel carefully.

aren't you ever tempted to stab him with the knitting needle or hook him with the crochet hook to slow him down?
