I went to water my plants today and noticed that a couple leaves of my snake plant weren't looking well. I took the plant down and the leaves were all soft and droopy with what looked like water under the skin. I often forget to water this plant, which has worked for it for the last 2 years. It has been a bit hot and humid this year but other than that I haven't changed anything. The rest of the plant seems to be doing fine and I pulled out the bad part. It came right out of the dirt without a struggle. Any ideas? I would like to prevent whatever went wrong from happening to the rest of the plant if I can. Thanks a lot!

coming out without a struggle sounds like the roots have rotted off, but it sounds like you haven't been watering it much. maybe it's the humidity?

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

It looked like it was rotted, except I've never seen a plant collect moisture under what looks like a thin layer of skin. I know I haven't over watered it and like I said, it's been doing great for 2 years. This year does seem a bit more humid than normal so maybe that's all it is and hopefully the rest of my plant will be spared. I just filled in the hole and watered the plant as usual, and now I'm hoping for the best. I really like that plant.

could be the humidity,, I rarely water mine at all,, it takes a lot of neglect,, I'd let it dry out for a while.
