First I want to tell everyone how neat this site is. Never realized it was here and I cannot tell you how great the information is on the site.
I have some really good Dianthus(prennial)
growing and was wondering when is the best time to harvest some of the
seeds so I can start
growing my own plants?(i.e. when the blooms die and then pick them, or wait till they(
seed pods) turn brown) I live in southwestern Missouri and they are full of blooms. What is the best potting soil to get started with and what is the best climate to get them started
growing? After what height do you transplant them to their final resting place and if I am not mistaken they will not bloom the first year; which is fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any other hints will be icing on the cake.
Thanks ever so much.
Bill
