Thought it might be fun to start a thread of pics of folks interesting trees in their yards and any stories associated with them. grin You guys have probably done this before but I want to see. bop grin These are just the ones from my backyard. I also have a huge wild Pecan tree but I'd have to get on my neighbor's roof to get a decent picture. lol

Magnolia Grandiflora was given to me as a very small tree in a bucket. A neighbor had given it to my sister and she didn't have anywhere to put it so she gave it to me. Lucky me! clap

Fig tree is from a cutting from my Grandmother's fig tree. This tree was the result of the 3rd try at rooting. Her tree came from her baby sister's yard. Her baby sister will be 94 in October. shock I was named for her. grin

Crepe Myrtle I bought this at one of the nurserys around here when it was teeny tiny. With an occasional dose of Miracle Gro the medium lavendar blooms change to a gorgeous deep purple. I'll get a pic when it blooms next month.

nice trees. I have 12 pecan trees in my yard, we usually pick up the pecans in the fall, we didn't get enough to pick up last fall I think it was just too dry here

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

12 pecan trees!! zoink You didn't get enough from 12 trees? Wow!! It must have been horribly dry!! I had enough from my 1 little tree to pick up but they weren't paying squat last year. I think Georgia and maybe Texas had bumper crops so the price was worse than it's been in years and years. tears

I've been picking up pecans for Christmas money since I was a kid. I grew up at my Grandmother's house and she had two giant trees and 2 of another kind that never really did very good. They were the big ones and for whatever reason they were almost always bad. We (my older sister and I) picked up the small ones from the giant trees.
