oohh, love that one. I bet it would grow well where I'm out. must keep an eye out for one of those. Is it a perinial where you are angleblossom?
Here's a few of mine...(wishing I had a better camera)
weidilia just starting to bloom. I got these late last summer and was warned they can be invasive. I'm keeping my eye on them. they're said to bloom most of the year.
trumpet vine? not sure of the name. they grow wild here. I've been looking for them around our property for several years now. Yep - got some this year!
my ex neighbor gave me these. she called them fan tails. my aunt says they are gladiolas. I saw some glad pics a while back on this forum and the leaves were totally different. my leaves come up in a fan shape?
patch of wild flowers. hubby says 'you missed a spot' when I mow around them. I think they are beautiful! they make great cut flowers, they last for a solid week.

Cricket I believe I read the Mexican fire bush is hardy to 20-30 degrees but it can be potted and brought in side over winter and will still bloom inside Your patch of black eyed susan's look great!! and yep that a glad' you have there
Mel your rock garden is awesome!

I thought my wild flowers were black eyed susans. See...free plants from God. and hubby wants them mowed down cause they're a weed. ha ha. that is one reason I took over the mowing!
love them solid yellow daylillys. mine are multi colored

Cindy--it the Blooming fine #18, after the photo's I had posted, you asked me if "that was sharp" i think I set up the pictures wrong--the sharp looking plant is the Eryngium---"Sea Holly"--although the color I have is supposed to be sapphire blue, I will not know for sure until it blooms.
And yes it is pointy----Emily said, as she was planting it for me,--"MOM why would you plant this---do you know how much of it I just pulled out of MY yard??/"---
so I do hope it is not overly invasive---

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!! .....
If anything looks that good at our place, I wouldn't dream of mowing it down - don't care if it's considered a weed, a blue hat society botanical or what it is.
In fact, I find the stuff that grows wild on this lot fares better than stuff you buy at the store.
Jeff and I actually have a patch of hawkweed that grows farther down the lot - we love it!
In my opinion, a weed is something that's growing where you don't want it to grow. If it intrudes on something, then certainly - hawk it up. If it's on its own, why not leave it there?
I just can't get over all the blooms people have already! I actually still have some Daffodils blooming! Tulips are done, alium is blooming, iris' just starting. That's about it! We need some warm sunny weather here.
HELP! I just received this begonia for my birthday. I ALWAYS kill begonias! It is absolutely gorgeous! Don't overwater right? Morning sun, afternoon shade? Help!
Last year I think I posted a picture of these iris', saying they didn't bloom! I guess patience is all I needed! Every day I watch the buds appear!
That round copper thing? A sprinkler! I just got it off QVC and I LOVE IT! It's goes around and around and throws water up to 30 feet and is the most mezmorizing thing! Even my husband and boys just stare at it - maybe I can hypnotize him with it!
See the big blue thing to the left in the back? That's my new thing I had my father-in-law make me this spring I saw in a magazine. There's bird seed inside and on top I have hens and chicks planted.
The very expensive nursery here has a full roof over one of their small buildings with a "green roof" - it's full of succulents and cacti just like that but much larger. I've tried to take pictures but the sun is always shining on it too strongly. One of these days...
By the way... that color goes perfectly with the adirondack chair by my pond - have any idea what paint it is???
