A Laptop !!!!!

Whewwwwwwwwww this had been a long time coming,, Wanting to just go get one was really testing my patients the last couple of years,, But something keep telling me" NOOOOOOO wait,, it's not the right time,"
The last month or so I've been really doing some research on laptops that would best fit my personal use. I take a lot of pictures and do a lot of editing, slide shows, music etc,;but I didn't have a dvd player or cd.dvd burner in my desktop, to be able to send out to family members and friends ,
Wellllllll NOW I do,,

I bought a HP pavilion Special edition,,

duo cd/dvd w/lite scribe, blu-ray video,3 up grade to 4 , 320 MB
it's a copper hard brushed finish Looks Like a shiny New Penny , with scribble designs on it,, wireless abg+N, blue tooth ready , TV Tuner, remote control. I really like the blue back lights makes it easy to see in the dark,, too bad the letter keys don't have the lights,, but there IS Lots of extras that isn't on some of the special editions,, ,, and it's a15.4 Screen, 6 lbs, < and that's okay 6lbs is heavier than I wanted But with all it comes with I'd even take 8 lbs, The battery is good for 5-6 hours Perfect for traveling!

regular 1249.00
ON Sale For 899. + I had a 25% off coupon for anything in the store,, 50$ off for it being a Star*energy Product, 130$ instant Rebate,, + $50 mail in rebate, got a free laptop travel bag with wheels and Handle, and Free wireless mouse, I bought a "3 year covers everything warranty "from dents- to full service anything, I good a good deal
The bag is awesome a separate compartment that is cushioned for the lap top, and another compartment for my purse, snacks, shoes what ever,, and many zippers and pockets for accessories, with a pop up handle!

The Time warner wireless tech just came to my house and now I'm ready to go outside on the patio, and be connected with you all!

Now I need to start saving for a really good camera! !

Thanks Merme,, It will take some getting used to,, the keys and touch pad is very sensitive,, I'm used to my old relic of a keyboard when I had to almost pound the letters to utilize them,. I'm not used to Vista either,, But It's looks like it going to be fun once I get the hang of it, I like the Idea of 3 D graphics. I will have fun playing around with that in editing photos. There is even a moph option,, I can take your face morph it into Loz face, morph her into a fairy's face, morph it into Cindy's face and morph her into an Alien face It will take practice,, But with time I know I can do it!

great deal! patience does pay off! I want one but thinking more sensibly, I really don't need one until I get into university in a year and a bit. I love that desktop image!

Trouble will be brewing for sure!

That's great Diane, I love all the features and the color of it! Very good deal! Really happy for you---it's so nice to not be chained to a desktop. I can promise you that I will never ever buy another desktop ever again.....Once you are wireless it's hard to go back.

Enjoy it! You'll get used to the keyboard and touchpad eventually. I used to hate the touchpad so I bought a wireless mouse. Now all I use is the touchpad, I like it better now. And the keyboard---well when I type on the desktop now I'm all clumsy because the keys are so big.....

Hope you're having fun on your new toy.

And thanks to Bill again for getting us ours. And the warranty. Which is VERY important. Laptops seem to need it eventually.

Well heck this is my week for good deals!!!!!!

I was on my way to Kohl's to look at luggage they had on sale , I'm thinking about going to KS this summer or early fall to see my daughter and grandkids, I always have to borrow someone's luggage simply because I don't know how to "pack light" .
But I decided to stop at Sam's club first to get my prescriptions refilled ,
I had 40 minutes to wait so I looked around Sam's and ran up on the display items for sale. There was 2 sets of luggage, Samsonite (3pc) and Ricardo's of Beverly Hills(4pc).Now you know I had to examine each pc throughly, I had them spread out on the floor all seven pieces I came to the conclusion Ricardo's of Beverly Hills was the better choice for durability and function of storage , lots more pockets, dividers , zippers. item protectors , Garment hangers, etc,, They both were originally over $400, marked down twice since. Final tags were Samsonite $139, Ricardo's $104. When it was rung up, it showed Ricardo's as only $64 ! Yipeeeeeeeeee Happy happy Joy Joy!!!!!!! 'Glad I stopped at Sam's first! So you Sam club shoppers don't forget about the display /discontinued item's on sale!!!!!!
Here is my new Luggage

Diane I know you are really good at working with your hands for fine movements so will you let me know if it is a big adjustment for you to work with the keys on the laptop? I'm really curious about how hard that might be.

i go back and forth between the laptop and a desk top every day due to my job. for me, it depends on how bad my hands are that day as to whether the adjustment is noticeable. but the laptop plays a big roll also. scott's laptop is much harder to adjust to as his keys are all rounded and sort of flat. my laptop has keys shaped very similar to the desktop, they just aren't as thick.

the keys on the laptop isn't so bad,, they are somewhat rounded and raised, I just don't have to tap as hard as the desk top keyboard, it's the programs in vista that have me a little crazy right now , navigation can be confusing, but I'll get used to it as with any other change I encounter,, welllllllllll okay execpt for the touch pad couldn't do it,, I broke out the wireless mouse,, I couldn't control scrolling with the touch pad,, Ohhh But I have been playing with the web cam practicing I guess you can say,,,, Here's a picture of me still trying to figure it out.
