So did you do some planting lately Carol. I'm trying to figure out a plan for a lily bed at the moment.

nope--no bending or stretching for me yet-

although I did the work to maintain my herb and asperagus gardens this year.

What I did do was---I got my DD to help me fill 2 large flower pots up and use them to container garden for this year--no bending or stretching that way.

right now I have spinach and green onions in the 2 pots.--here in a bit I am going to plant a tomato plant in one and a Datura, and some small flowers in the other. thumbup

carol has to have a garden of some sorts this year--- thumbup

if I thougth I could get DH to consent to trimming around yet another flower bed, (he does the grass cutting) i too would have a lily bed.--I have just gotten the nicest book with all sorts of lillys in it.

Good morning, everybody ~

I am having a very quiet day so far today. My girl was here and we got many things done. The relief for me is that the phone hasn't been ringing off the wall.

There is rather a stiff breeze out there today... I love to watch it in the trees.

I used to make home-made spahetti sauce---cooked it all day too.

One day DH said dear--I really cannot tell teh difference between your homemade and what you can buy.

Carol has not made the homemade since.--But I only buy the premade on sale.

I ended up having cheese grits for supper because I was too tired to cook. Maxi fixed himself some hotdogs. I think we are both pooped!

So, my couselor just left and it is early to bed for me.

Wow, another busy day here -- too many appointments this week for me to keep up, almost.

So I am going down for a well deserved nap.

I've decided on spaghetti for dinner tonight and I know Maxi will be pleased with that. We got his bike out of storage today and his school counselor gave him a new bike helmet, so I know I will have trouble dragging the kid indoors to come eat. Spaghetti will be a helpful lure....

Well, just chased down my garbage can at the neighbours. Pretty soon I'll have to tie down the bbq'er if the wind keep up.

Sure is quiet in here, I'll bet everyone is out enjoying their gardens.

that is some wind you are having, tamara!
I did do some gardening early this morning. mowed, added some newspaper & pine needles to one of my flower beds, picked up trash and clutter.....good grief, I spoil these people around here, they are pigs sometimes. I'm excited about the mowing. I've just about have run out of pine needles for my beds, and finally now when I cut the grass, I'm cutting more than just weeds. I'll have some nice grass clippings for my beds. I'll rake and add to beds tomorrow. we got about 15 drops of rain this afternoon. not even enough to mist the leaves of anything. cracks in the soil. and no rain to speak of in the 5 day forecast. I'm not complaining though. last year we had 2 months of rain at the beginning of spring, followed by about 2 months of no rain. No great 'summer thunderstoms' that I enjoy so much.

Good morning Tamara and anyone else rising now!

It's a bit cool here - in the low 40's right now, but it's supposed to be around 80 today. Yesterday was in the 70's and already some plants were drooping in the waterfall hills of the pond - this does not bode well for this summer - I was hoping not to have to water there too often, as the dirt flows down into the pond when I do!!!

What's on everyone's plate for today?

Morning Lynne.. frost again this morning here.

Today is the usual cleaning and baking.

DH only works a half day today so I'm hoping he can help me cut the grass after lunch...not being able to do much is getting to me.

Good morning, everyone ~

We are having a beautiful day here at the beach.

Maxi is excited because tonight is the last school dance of the year. He plans to ask Brynne to dance, although he is nervous about that! I reminded him that they have been friends since Kindergarten and most likely she'd be really glad he asked!

Yesterday we got his bike out of storage and he was so thrilled I could barely get him off of it long enough to come in and eat his dinner. Then first thing this morning he was out there again, riding and riding that bike. Man dear, he loves to ride!

We are planning a relatively quiet weekend because I am feeling quite tired after a week of too many appointments.

Good morning again, everyone ~

Wow, I can hardly believe no one posted in Coffeehouse since my post yesterday morning! Where did everybody go? why

Maxi had a blast at the school dance last night and he DID dance with Brynne! I'm so proud of him for getting up the nerve to ask her!

I am hoping that the threat of rain will turn into a real downfall as we are 3 inches behind and need it!

Morning Merme,

We were busy with yard work, shed cleaning, barn work and the neighbours again. One of the busiest days I've had in awhile, it felt good to be outside all day in the fresh air.

I'm glad you got to be outside yesterday, Tam. It was lovely here also.

The rain is coming down by the bucketful. It is a good sight to see but I'm sorry Msxi's bike is still out on the porch. I can't bring it in because it is such a heavy bugger.

It was chilly and windy here yesterday but I bundled up and enjoyed it anyway.

Took DD to the local Sears depot to pick up her parcel of prom shoes and such and we stopped for an ice-cream flurry. It was delicious, sometimes the little pleasures are the best.

So is your Maxi officially starting to date Merme?

Nope. I told him no official dating until he is 16 and can drive. I pointed out that the idea of dating was to go somewhere with your girl by yourselves, not have mom/dad take you. He can meet up with a friend at an event, like the dance last night, but no dating and no steady.

He looks at me as if I'm a dinosaur!

But! That's my rule, so.
