My meat has to be well done, not even a trace of pink.

I was a vegetarian years ago...landed me in the hospital. I was so nutrient deficient. Learned my lesson.

That Ensure sure packs a bunch Cindy, I like the taste of Boost as well. You can buy the 'no name' brands as well here at $1 a can. Guess that's the only thing that's cheaper here than there.

I only eat my meat if it's half charred black. lol Kidding....but I do NOT to any form of pink in my meat. Period. I guess I always have it in the back of my head that it's easier to get sick from meat that isn't cooked all the way.

I just don't understand how a rare steak can taste good with all that redness and blood. nervous But to each his own. thumbup

Yes .....we drained the blood out of the duck thru the top of its head. THen they put vinegar in it and it jelled ......Then we took it to grannys house.
Maybe Cindy wants some.........

We also made Pig feet jello for granny out of the pigs feet.....They cut the feet off, hoof an all .. I arent sure how that was done.

Yes they were folks from Poland and did eat different.

Barb, now that is stuff that I'll agree is different. lol

Lynne--it was a guy, and he ate it in front of me and about made me ill just seeing him do it. And yep, he's still alive. lol

Diane, you should see me just "browning" ground beef---I cook the heck out of it. I worry too much about Salmonella and E Coli.

My sister HATES eating out with me because I'm the only one that gets Well Done steaks....so everyones order always has to wait to come out because my steak is still cooking. grin

Diane....I was gonna send you some pigfeet jello too....I didn't know you didn't like it! notme  lol

Dad used to put pigs feet in his split pea soup that we lived on one winter when money was tight. Imagine my shock at this after being told I was going to marry a Pink Pig when I was little. I didn't want to marry him, much less eat him.

Loz - when I was little, I learned from the father to order the END piece of a steak or other cut of meat - it's always more well done than the other pieces. Often I would still have to send it back for more cooking. Whenever we have gone to a wedding where I want meat for a change - usually get the fish or chicken if it's offered, I always ask for an end cut and then tell them to cook it longer!

Yep I'll brown it to a nice dark brown,, lol

Luckily Dwight likes well cooked meats too,, so eating steaks out isn't a problem,, He will return it if there any indication of pink,,

Lynne ~ we haven't had any really lively thread hijacking in a long time and I always think it is so fun!

But seriously, Afgrey ~ another thing you might try eating is Gerber's Cereal for Baby. It is so easy to digest because it is single grain and has a very mild flavor. I buy the Rice most often and mix it with milk. I think it is good and it is loaded with nutrition.

I thought that removing you r appendix was standard when one had an abdominal surgery--because it is not a necessary organ and if it is not there it can not cause problems down the road. So it is good it is gone---one less thing for you to worry about. thumbup

--But then I have had 3 abdominal surgeries and yet--i still have my appendix---crazy Drs here I guess----I am telling the next one to take it.......

Cindy--yes I asked and I am glad you shared--I will be praying for you thru this.--- kissie---remember i am here-----

Cindy - I am so sorry you had to go through all that, and are still having residual effects. That has to be so scarey for you. I hope that the antibiotics work wonders for you over the weekend, and by the time you go back to the doctor I hope everything is well on their way to mending well again.

Thank you so much for explaining a bit more what has happened and what you are going through. We are always all here for you, and helping you pull through this to get to a sweeter place.
