It was bound to happen....I came back from the movies yesterday evening and my greenhouse was laying over on the opposite side of the yard where it was supposed to be, practically demolished. We had a bad storm go through and the wind was just too much for it. It landed on several plants along the way and a couple of hanging plant stands that were bent completely over. The wind had blown it over several times in the past but nothing like this time. It ripped large holes all through it and it is now unusable. Oh well...I was planning on building a shed in it's place eventually anyway...guess I'll do it sooner than I expected!
It's horrible to hear that. Any plant casualties that you know of yet? If so let me know and if I can help replace them I will.
The winds have been incredible haven't they? The storms through here have been down right scary this year. And the wind is still out there whipping the trees around.
I had a small green house one year and the winds were horrible on it.
we had big storms saturday night again, it ran out of steam before it got to us, I'm glad, there are people down the road still cleaning up from the last tornado we had
I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once. -Jennifer Unlimited- Yard Update -April 2012
My house is OK, but I worry about the large pine tree in my neighbors yard. At one time it had 2 trunks from the main base, but one of them rotted and fell off (in their yard) leaving the other to bare the weight of the very large tree. And of course it's the one closest to me and if it falls it will fall on my house. I've asked them numerous times to have it cut down before they end up having to pay to fix my house, but they don't seem to care.
Only a couple of plant fatalities...a white money plant and an agastache. It could have been much worse if it had blown a different direction. Guess it just gives me room for new plants!
I have the purple money plant but not a white one. And I don't know the other plant you mentioned. But you can see my seed list in the cuttings and seed exchange room. If there is anything you want please let me know and I'll send it to you.
